Our church history
Grace Chin Church of Maryland, formerly known as Maryland Chin Baptist Church, was established on January 18, 2015, with an initial membership of 65. Over the years, the church grew in spiritual maturity, unity, and purpose while faithfully seeking to serve God and the Chin community.
As the church considered its future, discussions arose regarding the possibility of merging with another congregation. Some members supported the merger, while others believed the church should continue as an independent congregation. After prayer, discussion, and careful consideration, some members chose to join another church, while the remaining congregation continued forward with a renewed vision and direction.
On February 2, 2025, the church was officially renamed Grace Chin Church of Maryland (GCCM), marking a new chapter in its identity and ministry. As part of this transition, the church adopted Colossians 2:7 and the theme “Rooted in Faith” as a guiding foundation for its mission and future.
The first worship service under the new name was held at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Columbia, Maryland, where the congregation continues to gather for worship today.
Through God’s grace and faithfulness, GCCM continues to pursue spiritual growth, strengthen its fellowship, serve its community, and fulfill its calling to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
